Career:

  • Project Manager, Lithuanian National Library
  • Dr. Kestutis Juskevicius is the manager of the project "Libraries for Innovation". The goal of the project to achieve, through strengthening and using the capacities of public libraries, a considerably better use of the possibilities of information technologies among all the Lithuanian population. More than 1200 public libraries and 2000 librarians participate in the project.
  • During the last 15 years his main interests focus on applications of information technologies to social, cultural and public administration fields. Especially he is interested in application of information technologies in rural areas.
  • In 1996 he joined the UNESCO Chair in Informatics for the Humanities at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics and took part in projects on creating of digital archives of old sound records, developing of multimedia electronic books, computer aided learning courses.
  • From 1998 until 2005 he also served as the Information Program Officer in Open Society Fund - Lithuania and was leading the ICT projects in medical, cultural, civic fields.

Publications:

  • Kestutis Juskevicius is majoring in informatics, author of more than 50 scientific articles.

Interests:

  • Since 1971 he has been with the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics. For a long time his scientific interests have been focused on limited sample size problems in statistical recognition and clustering. At the same time he was involved in a number of computer-aided signal processing projects in medicine and industry.

 

  • During the last 15 years his main interests focus on applications of information technologies to social, cultural and public administration fields. Especially he is interested in application of information technologies in rural areas.
